Building Statistics
  • Building Statistics
140
Excavation Statistics
  • Over 780 semi truck loads of soil were hauled off site during the excavation of the building.  An additional 150 loads were removed for the construction of the bank building, underground retention, and parking lot.
141
Storm Water Statistics
  • The property has its own storm water retention system located under the parking lot.  This system incorporates over 550 feet of 42” diameter reinforced concrete pipe.  The storm water retention system is designed to handle a “100 year flood”.  This system can hold up to 57,000 gallons of water until the Chicago sewer system can absorb the excess water.
142
Concrete Statistics
  • Over 2,000 yards of concrete (250 ready mix trucks) went into the construction of the building.  The 15 foot high concrete foundation walls consumed 500 yards alone and included 25 tons of rebar to reinforce the strength.
143
Concrete Statistics
  • The structural slab at the Plaza Deck used an additional 550 yards of concrete with 66 tons of rebar.  The remaining concrete was used to pour the decks, slabs, curbs and sidewalks throughout the project.  In total more than 2,300 yards of concrete and 100 tons of rebar were used in the entire project.

144
Masonry Statistics
  • The shell of the building includes over 49,000 concrete masonry units (CMU).  These block walls support the 298,000 tons of steel.  An additional 158,000 face brick, 20 tons of renaissance stone and 11 tons of limestone were used on the exterior elevations.  184,000 pounds of grout and mortar as well.
145
Electrical Statistics
  • The main electrical service for the building is 800 amps at 480 volts.  There are five different conduit systems throughout the building totaling over 35,000 feet.  There are more than fifty miles of wiring including communication cabling.  The building features a state of the art dimming system and watt miser outdoor lighting controls.
146
Electrical Statistics
  • In the event of a power outage, the building is protected by a fully automatic, 180,000 watt turbo diesel back-up generator.  The generator supports emergency lighting, heating & air-conditioning and power to critical areas, including computer room and security console.
147
Technology Statistics
  • The building is equipped with a state of the art security system.  This system is capable of monitoring access to all points of entry and incorporates close circuit TV cameras at all major tries to the building.  The information is available at a computer console and can be changed at any time based on client’s needs.
148
Plumbing Statistics
  • The building is a home for over one and one half miles of copper piping.  The cast iron sewer and vent piping stretch over a thousand feet.  The toilet rooms are equipped with automated faucets and flush valves in order to conserve water and reduce the spread of bacteria.

149
Parking Garage Statistics
  • The Parking Garage covers more than half the lower level.  This 8,800 square foot garage holds up to 25 cars.  It is equipped with a hot-water heating system, carbon monoxide detection & ventilation system, and full security.  The extended height allows full size vans and service trucks.
150
Building Lobby Statistics
  • Entering the lobby through the revolving door you are greeted with the familiar Teamster logo in-laid in the terrazzo flooring.  Across the lobby is a 30 foot tall wall of mahogany paneling.  Looking towards the sky you will find a custom skylight surrounded by drywall coves and accent lighting.
151
Main Stairs Statistics
  • As you leave the Main Lobby you walk down a circular stairway constructed of concrete and terrazzo.  The steel railing system is accented with stainless steel ornamentation.  The railing is capped with a carved mahogany handrail which ties the lower level to the first floor.
152
Meeting Hall Statistics
  • With almost 2,800 square feet of space, the Meeting Hall can easily accommodate 250 people.  With the acoustically engineered ceiling system, the Meeting Hall is a perfect setting for any assembly, large or small.

153
Meeting Hall Statistics
  • Adjacent to the Meeting Hall is a prep kitchen capable of servicing the catering needs of almost any venue.  There are also men’s & women’s toilet rooms located just a few steps away.
